Sgt Peppers Drumskin Replica
The legendary custom bass drumhead used on the front cover of the Beatles’ iconic 1967 album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band went up for auction in 2008 at Christie’s London, and it realized a price of £541,250 Wow !
That indeed caught up my attention and I decided for fun to make a replica with a vintage look on a 30 inch diameter drumhead like the original. The original design was conceived by Peter Blake who also designed the famous album cover. The legend states that Blake hired a Fairground artist to execute the painting. Of course, I did my version in a more modern way. I started with a multi layer stencil as a guide, and painted the piece with an airbrush and finished it by hand. I did two copies and they look very different. Handmade!
A Splendid time is guaranted for all !

The Masters’ Tarot Full 78 cards Deck
At first, I have to admit that I’ve been inspired by the tarot images shown in the intro sequence of the great tv show Carnivàle. But after some research, I realized that their images where cool but not really corresponding to real tarot iconography. So I decided to have my own take by creating a custom tarot based on the paintings of the great art history masters. From the originals, I only kept the contour lines, marble like textured background, and fonts as an hommage.
To make the deck coherent, I focused mainly my search around Medieval and Renaissance paintings and had them matched as closely as possible with images reflecting the generally accepted meanings for each card. I followed a few books for meaning and iconography.
All my images are taken from internet, with resolution large enough to have crisp pictures. I worked on the project on and off over a period of six months. Fun !

Have a look at the samples. It’ s almost a detective job to identify all the painting on the cards…..
The Prisoner Esp Cards

The Prisoner Village Map
Number 6 : I’d like a map of this area.
Shop keeper : A map ? Color or black and white ?
Number 6 : …Just a map.
As a huge Prisoner fan, I already recreated for fun a few of the props used in the show and this map is a special project. I did a first version back then but with the show now on Blue Ray, I decided to have a second shot at it.
I’m now presenting the Version 2. Retraced from hi-res screenshots, much more details were now visible in terms of colour precision, watercolour brush stokes, pencil lines, Letraset lettering and little mistakes. Now, don’t forget that this map has 30 seconds max of screen time in close-up shots and honestly, it looks that it had been done quickly. With this in mind, I redid it in Illustrator and Photoshop, to have more control on the graphic elements and to give it something more to look at. I’m very satisfied with the final result and I got good feedbacks on forums.
I see this product as a small edition collector item :
- Presented in a hardcover booklet with gold mat lettering and logo on beautiful textured paper.
- The map inside is printed on high resolution megajet 132gr paper.

Banyan Lamp
That project was commissioned by a dear friend of mine for a special family occasion. I probably went beyond my mandate as usual. Technically, it involved clay modelling, resin casting, metallic patines, glass kiln work. Anyways, the final result was quite stunning judging by the final verdict: « Mind blowing ! » they said. Well, thank you.
